Participating in Allianz’s Supplier Gathering 2024 on May 30th was a remarkable experience, brimming with insights and inspiration. With the theme “Towards a Sustainable Development,” this event emphasized collaboration and Allianz’s unwavering commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria. Notably, Allianz has now integrated ESG as a fundamental component of its vendor evaluation process.
Vendors were invited to bring trash as part of the sustainability initiative, and the event concluded with top performance awards and a trash collection drive facilitated by Allianz’s partnership with Rekosistem, a forward-thinking waste management startup. Key messages from the event resonated deeply, including: “Sustainability is at the heart of what we do now in Allianz” and “I suffer from climate change just like all of us, and we look forward to our suppliers working with us toward a sustainable future.”
During the gathering, Allianz introduced their procurement team and detailed their vendor payment SLA process. Starting this year, ESG factors will weigh significantly in the vendor evaluation criteria.
